In 2023 I began visiting Refugee Women Connect and their women’s group in St Helens offering them photography workshops. We spent a number of weeks learning photography techniques and taking photos together. Before Christmas I gave the group disposable cameras to document things that were important to them in their lives. I went back to visit the group, bringing their developed photos with me and we spent the morning choosing our favourites and writing captions to share our thoughts and feelings. Within the group there were a number of different languages spoken alongside English and so we felt it was important for the captions to be written in both - English and their native language.   

For Refugee week in 2024 we exhibited their work in the foyer of Liverpool Lighthouse as part of the theatre production by Afloat Theatre and Asylum link Merseyside.
